WILMA’s Leadership Institute: Meet Toni Johnson

WILMA’s 2024 Leadership Institute, an annual nine-month program, gives area women the opportunity to learn from leaders in the region, visit a range of local companies, and serve as each others’ personal board of directors.

The program is part of WILMA’s Women to Watch Leadership Initiative, created to help develop more women leaders in our area.

Meet institute member TONI JOHNSON.

How long have you been with your current employer? 7 Months

Alma Mater: University of North Carolina Wilmington – Go Seahawks!

Prior career experience:Director of Construction & Development- RHD

Current job responsibilities:

  • Comprehensive lead generation and prospecting within the assigned region; identifying prospective customers and leads from a variety of sources.
  • Building and maintaining a network of referral sources.
  • Qualifying potential clients and projects to evaluate viability and suitability with regional strategic plans.
  • Utilizing qualifying methods to prioritize opportunities and recommend the allocation of preconstruction resources and strategies for complex sales.
  • Leading sales meetings and presentations to client prospects.
  • Effectively and collaboratively managing projects and client relationships from initial contact thorough proposal development, interview, regulatory approvals, and contract development and execution.
  • Reviewing/analyzing proposal requirements including schedule, programming, drawings, specifications, and owners project requirements; coordinating proposal activities with internal preconstruction, sales/marketing, and operations teams; managing schedule and client communications through the sales cycle
  • Working with operations to support forecasting, budgeting, and staffing plans based on sales projections.

Hobbies: Interior Design, Traveling, Outdoor adventures (hiking, running, paddleboarding, etc.), Trying new restaurants/food
