WILMA’s Leadership Institute: Meet Denise Foat
Snapshot of this year's Leadership Institute members
WILMA’s 2024 Leadership Institute, an annual nine-month program, gives area women the opportunity to learn from leaders in the region, visit a range of local companies, and serve as each others’ personal board of directors.
The program is part of WILMA’s Women to Watch Leadership Initiative, created to help develop more women leaders in our area.
Meet institute member DENISE FOAT.
Denise Foat

How long have you been with your current employer? 7 Years
Alma Mater: N/A
Prior career experience: Prior to my role at Live Oak Bank, I acquired significant career experience at First Citizens Bank for 8 years as a Financial Service Rep before transitioning to a Business Banker Assistant. Prior to my tenure at First Citizens Bank, I spent over five years at State Employees Credit Union as a Member Service Representative, where I specialized in opening new accounts and providing essential support to members for their financial needs. The opportunity to now work at Live Oak Bank is truly extraordinary, given the unique people and culture within the company.
Current job responsibilities: In my current role, I lead a team of 7 team members who assist our Underwriting and Closing departments by initiating, preparing, and meticulously reviewing reports to confirm adherence to SBA guidelines.
