WILMA’s 2024 Leadership Institute, an annual nine-month program, gives area women the opportunity to learn from leaders in the region, visit a range of local companies, and serve as each others’ personal board of directors.
The program is part of WILMA’s Women to Watch Leadership Initiative, created to help develop more women leaders in our area.
Meet institute member MINDY DAVIS.
Mindy Davis
Title: Early Care & Education Director

How long have you been with your current employer? 8 Years
Alma Mater: University of Tennessee, Knoxville- B.S. (1997), Milligan College- M.Ed. (1999)
Prior career experience:TN Early Childhood Training Alliance (2002-2016), Elementary School Teacher (1999-2002)
Current job responsibilities:As the ECE Director, I implement and oversee 3 in-house Smart Start early care and education programs that provide support to early educators. I formulate project proposals pertaining to the advancement of the early childhood field. I work closely with partners locally, regionally, and at the state level to advocate on behalf of young children and educate families and the community on the importance of quality childcare.
Hobbies: Volunteering with Pleasure Island Sea Turtle Project, Reading, Beach days with friends, attending concerts and plays.
