WILMA’s Leadership Institute: Meet Stefanie Norris

WILMA’s 2023 Leadership Institute, an annual nine-month program, gives area women the opportunity to learn from leaders in the region, visit a range of local companies, and serve as each others’ personal board of directors.

The program is part of WILMA’s Women to Watch Leadership Initiative, created to help develop more women leaders in our area.

Meet institute member STEFANIE NORRIS.


Stefanie Norris

Company: UNCW Department of Student Engagement, Enrollment & Retention

How long have you been with your current employer? 13 years in June

Alma Mater: Longwood University ’08 (Bachelors) James Madison University ’10  (Masters) UNCW (Doctorate) ‘22

Prior career experience: ACE Coordinator, Assistant Director of Campus Life Arts and Programs, Director of Campus Life Arts and Programs, Interim Executive Director of Campus Life, Interim Director of Transition Programs, Director of Student Involvement and Leadership

Current job responsibilities: Stefanie facilitates pathways between the North Carolina Community Colleges and UNCW. Additionally, she serves as the main point of contact for transfer partnership or pathway programs such as the currently Project Kitty Hawk aimed to re-enroll adult learners and stop outs. Stefanie’s tasked with creating more transfer friendly processes and policies on-campus to ensure UNCW can serve both first-year and transfer students equally.

Hobbies: Cooking and hosting, spending time outside with her family and friends, coaching Tball
