WILMA’s Leadership Institute: Meet Maria Rodriguez

WILMA’s 2024 Leadership Institute, an annual nine-month program, gives area women the opportunity to learn from leaders in the region, visit a range of local companies, and serve as each others’ personal board of directors.

The program is part of WILMA’s Women to Watch Leadership Initiative, created to help develop more women leaders in our area.

How long have you been with your current employer?With New Hanover County since 2017, current role since 2024

Alma Mater: UNC Charlotte

Prior career experience: I have taught for Cape Fear Community College, Rowan Cabarrus Community College and  Pfeiffer University in North Carolina. I have been interpreting professionally since 2003.

Current job responsibilities:

 Hobbies: I love photography, reading, going to the theater and to
the movies.
