WILMA’s Leadership Institute: Meet Linsey Hackett

Snapshot of this year's Leadership Institute members

WILMA’s 2023 Leadership Institute, an annual nine-month program, gives area women the opportunity to learn from leaders in the region, visit a range of local companies, and serve as each others’ personal board of directors.

The program is part of WILMA’s Women to Watch Leadership Initiative, created to help develop more women leaders in our area.

Meet institute member LINSEY HACKETT.

Linsey Hackett

HackettTitle: People Department

Company: Monteith Construction

How long have you been with your current employer? 5 years

Alma Mater: Randolph-Macon College, Columbia University, Duke University

Prior career experience: I spent eight years as a public school teacher in Harlem and then here in New Hanover County.

Current job responsibilities: My job can be summed up into three different areas- finding great people, helping to develop those people, and keeping those people. It’s a job that requires many hats and it is exciting to be a part of a growing company.

Hobbies: I love to hang out with my four- and six-year-old kiddos, travel, and read. I cannot cook but love to eat. I wished I loved running but turns out I am an excellent walking companion.
