WILMA’s Leadership Institute: Meet Jamie Lynn-Weeks

Snapshot of this year's Leadership Institute members

WILMA’s 2023 Leadership Institute, an annual nine-month program, gives area women the opportunity to learn from leaders in the region, visit a range of local companies, and serve as each others’ personal board of directors.

The program is part of WILMA’s Women to Watch Leadership Initiative, created to help develop more women leaders in our area.

Meet institute member JAMIE-LYNN WEEKS.

Jamie-Lynn Weeks

WeeksTitle: Owner & CEO

Company: Sol Solutions + Co.

How long have you been with your current employer? I’ve owned my business for 8 years

Alma Mater: Paralegal Studies at Champlain College in Burlington, VT

Prior career experience: Before starting my own business, I worked as a paralegal in Chicago, specializing in both corporate real estate and elder law. I transitioned to the online workspace in 2015 as a virtual assistant primarily serving business and life coaches and quickly became an online business manager. In 2022 I niched into hiring strategy & consulting, and successfully launched my team agency at the beginning of 2023.

Current job responsibilities: I connect small business owners with remote team members who support with everything from behind-the-scenes business management to administrative assistance, tech support and social media management.

Hobbies: I’ve always been an avid reader, both fiction (especially historical fiction from the Tudor or Regency eras) and non-fiction (business management and leadership biographies). I’ve been a studio dancer since I was 2 — ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical. Most recently I’ve been learning salsa and bachata with Wilmington Latin Dance.
