WILMA’s Leadership Institute: Meet Christie Schreckengost
WILMA’s 2024 Leadership Institute, an annual nine-month program, gives area women the opportunity to learn from leaders in the region, visit a range of local companies, and serve as each others’ personal board of directors.
The program is part of WILMA’s Women to Watch Leadership Initiative, created to help develop more women leaders in our area.
Meet institute member CHRISTIE SCHRECKENGOST.

How long have you been with your current employer? 4 Years
Alma Mater: University of North Carolina at Wilmington (UNCW) – Graduated Undergrad in 2005 & MPA in 2015
Prior career experience:Past work experience includes Active-Duty time with the U.S. Coast Guard and Transportation Project Manager with the Oregon Department of Transportation.
Current job responsibilities: Town of Leland’s Project Manager overseeing and leading the Town’s Capital Improvement projects with transportation, utilities, and resiliency projects. Also, currently serving as the Senior Reserve Officer in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserves where I manage over 140 Coast Guard Reservists throughout the state of North Carolina.
Hobbies: Avid swimmer, loves the beach, walking her dog Kane and watching College football. Go Buckeyes!!
