WILMA’s Leadership Institute: Meet Becky Whiteside

WILMA’s 2022 Leadership Institute, an annual nine-month program, gives area women the opportunity to learn from leaders in the region, visit a range of local companies, and serve as each others’ personal board of directors.
The program is part of WILMA’s Women to Watch Leadership Initiative, created to help develop more women leaders in our area.
Meet institute member BECKY WHITESIDE.
Becky Whiteside
Title: Director of Professional & Support Services
Company: Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center
How long have you been with your current employer?: 14 years
Alma Mater: East Carolina University (BSN) and The Ohio University (MHA)
Prior career experience: Emergency Department Registered Nurse, Clinical Nurse Analyst, Clinic Administrator, and Regional Manager of Specialty Institutes
Current job responsibilities: Oversight and support of the day-to-day operations at Brunswick Medical Center; Direct and coordinate appropriate resources for daily operations, fiscal management and strategic planning for services to ensure quality care is delivered while supporting the hospital operations. I would directly with the following departments at Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center: radiology, lab, pharmacy, rehab, respiratory, environmental services, food and nutrition services, public safety/facilities, surgical services and Brunswick Endoscopy Center, supply chain, and digital products and services. Services expansion, infrastructure and support services are included in the role.
Hobbies: attending and practicing sports with our two busy children (9 year old son and 6 year old daughter) and hiking/being outdoors with my family
