WILMA’s 2024 Leadership Institute, an annual nine-month program, gives area women the opportunity to learn from leaders in the region, visit a range of local companies, and serve as each others’ personal board of directors.
The program is part of WILMA’s Women to Watch Leadership Initiative, created to help develop more women leaders in our area.
Meet institute member AMY BALDWIN.
Amy Baldwin
Title: Advanced Nuclear Planning Manager
Company: GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy
How long have you been with your current employer? 13 Years
Alma Mater: Virginia Tech (Go Hokies!)
Prior career experience:Various Supply Chain, Quality and Manufacturing roles with a specialization in Lean methodologies and continuous improvement.
Current job responsibilities:In my position, I lead the material management procurement for the Advance Nuclear portion of our business. In this capacity, I create purchase requisitions, create long term material forecasts for suppliers, lead the implementation of a new Material Resource Planning digital system and lead the lean/continuous improvement efforts on the team.
Hobbies: Running and staying physically fit including any outdoor activity such as golf, hiking and paddleboarding; Spending time with my family and attending all of my kids games or activities (I have 2 sons, Will (8) and Jake (6)); and watching live sporting events and volunteering.
