Drop-in classes

Commitment isn’t always easy, especially when it comes to going to the gym. But there are several Wilmington-area places that offer low-commitment options for the indecisive. Many offer classes for a small fee per class. Get physically and socially fit without the obligation or large monthly fee with some of these options:

Open Studio

1055 Military Cutoff Road, Suite 102

www.openstudionc.com | 665-9642

Open Studio offers various classes including yoga and barre (as well as even acting and creative writing classes). The studio is cut into two halves to help create and promote a mind and body connection through the arts and wellness combined. Drop-in yoga classes are available for $15, and drop-in barre classes run $18. On Thursday evenings from 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. and Friday afternoons from noon to 1 p.m., there is a “pay what you can” yoga class. Donations are encouraged for those sessions.

Zumba

Held at El Club Scorpion, 5523 Oleander Drive

www.wjoyner.zumba.com | 512-1291

Fitness lover and licensed instructor Wendy Joyner teaches

Zumba for $5 a class several times a week the El Scorpion nightclub. Zumba incorporates Latin and International music, dancing, and aerobics. There is no contract fee or membership sign up for her classes.

Organic Yoga

Held at Theatre Now, 19 SOUTH Tenth Street

www.facebook.com/OrganicYogaNC | 465-2690

Organic Yoga offers the all-inclusiveness and serenity of yoga without a heavy cost. Three years ago, each class was fueled by donations, but now each class is drop in and only $10. There is not a monthly fee or membership requirement. On Saturdays, there are community classes offered for $8.

Momentum Cycle

260 Racine Drive, Suite 7

www.momentum-ride.com | 431-8028

Momentum Cycle offers a $10-per-class fee, so commitment isn’t necessary. Getting a seat for one of the indoor cycling classes, however, isn’t guaranteed, so signing up for a class time online is the best way to go. Momentum currently offers two classes: the Momentum Cycle Ride is a standard 45-minute ride, and the Momentum Cycle Basics is a slower ride to introduce and comfort new riders to the class.

Body Aligned

3502 Wrightsville Avenue, Unit F

www.thebodyaligned.com | 279-7294

Pilates helps to tone, stretch, and reshape the body, and Body Aligned offers plenty of packages to do so. Body Aligned offers

$12 mat classes and $25 tower classes along with $35-a-session, semi-private lessons. Tower classes require reservations.

Flow Fitness

7946 Market Street
