WILMA’s Leadership Institute, an annual nine-month program, gives area women the opportunity to learn from leaders in the region, visit a range of local companies, and serve as each other’s personal board of directors. The program is part of the WILMA Leadership Initiative, created to empower women to lead with confidence and purpose. Meet institute member DAISHA WINDHAM.

Title:  Marketing & Community Engagement Manager

How long have you been with your current employer?  3 Months

Alma Mater:  North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University

Prior career experience: – Creativity Justified – Director of Contracts & Projects – U.S. Department of State – Public Diplomacy & Tech Specialist – Executive Office of the Mayor, Washington, DC – Public Information Specialist – Torpedo Factory Art Center – Arts Associate – University of Cambridge – Certification in Installation and Performance Art

Current job responsibilities: Leads strategic communications, public relations, and community-centered initiatives that amplify the organization’s mission and presence, with a focus on branding and public engagement.

Hobbies: Hiking, exploring museums, galleries, and libraries, attending fashion shows, traveling, and participating in community service and advocacy supporting the advancement of women and girls.
