WILMA’s Leadership Institute, an annual nine-month program, gives area women the opportunity to learn from leaders in the region, visit a range of local companies, and serve as each other’s personal board of directors. The program is part of the WILMA Leadership Initiative, created to empower women to lead with confidence and purpose. Meet institute member C’LESHA STURDIVAT.

Alma Mater: East Carolina University- B.A., Walden University- MPA
Prior career experience: Guardian ad Litem Program Specialist- 2022-2024 Deputy Clerk- 2021-2022 Probation and Parole Officer- 2014-2021 Police Officer- 2010-2015
Current job responsibilities: I investigate misdemeanor and felony cases to collect information used to verify evidence or to substantiate innocence for indigent persons charged with crimes within Brunswick, Columbus, and Bladen Counties. I interview witnesses and prepare written reports for attorneys to use in court. Additionally, I serve subpoenas, share discovery with clients, conduct background checks, and assist attorneys in court during trials.
Hobbies: Spending time with my husband, daughter, and grandchildren, volunteering, cooking, hanging out with my sorority sisters, and yelling at my daughter’s basketball games.
