WILMA’s Leadership Institute, an annual nine-month program, gives area women the opportunity to learn from leaders in the region, visit a range of local companies, and serve as each other’s personal board of directors. The program is part of the WILMA Leadership Initiative, created to empower women to lead with confidence and purpose. Meet institute member BROOKE WEISSMAN.


Brooke Weissman

Title:  Manager of Rehabilitation Services

Company:  Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center

How long have you been with your current employer?  6 years

Alma Mater:  Western Carolina University

Prior career experience: I have over 17 years of experience as a physical therapist or rehab manager in various settings including outpatient, acute care and skilled nursing.

Current job responsibilities: I serve as the Manager of Rehabilitation Services, overseeing both acute care and outpatient therapy operations in Brunswick County. In this role, I lead interdisciplinary teams to drive patient-centered care, improve operational efficiency, and support organizational goals related to quality, safety, and patient experience. My responsibilities include staff development, program growth, performance improvement initiatives, and collaboration with hospital leadership to enhance outcomes such as length of stay, patient access, and care transitions

Hobbies: In my free time, I enjoy reading, yoga, and spending time with my husband and daughter. I love getting outdoors—whether it’s visiting local parks, the beach, or just being active together. I’ve also recently enjoyed getting into bread-making.
