WILMA’s Leadership Institute, an annual nine-month program, gives area women the opportunity to learn from leaders in the region, visit a range of local companies, and serve as each other’s personal board of directors. The program is part of the WILMA Leadership Initiative, created to empower women to lead with confidence and purpose. Meet institute member BECKY WILLIAMS.
Becky Williams
Title: Manager of Surgical Services
Company: Novant Health Pender Medical Center
How long have you been with your current employer? 2.5 years
Alma Mater: Chamberlain University, College of Nursing and University of Massachusetts School of Nursing
Prior career experience: Nurse Manager – Adult Intensive Care Unit and Progressive Care Unit House/ Nursing Supervisor – Level II Trauma Center Float Nurse – Emergency Department, House Supervision, Intensive Care Unit, Intermediate Care Unit
Current job responsibilities: Oversee operations of the Surgical Services Department at Pender Medical Center; comprised of 2 Operating Rooms, 1 Endoscopy Suite, 1 Central Sterile Department, and 9-Bay Ambulatory Surgery Unit. Support continuous enhancement of team engagement, safety and quality, patient experience and access, growth, and pursue continuous improvement in operational excellence. Support the nursing department and facility as an administrator on call on a rotation basis.
Hobbies: I love to spend time on the beach, shell hunting, watch my kids play their favorite sports, travel to new places, bake at home, or spend quality time with my family.
