Heroic Lessons: From My Team to Yours
Nicole Woods became UNCW’s 12th women’s basketball head coach in 2023, recently finishing up her third season with the Seahawks. Originally from Gastonia, she spent a decade on the coaching staff at UNC-Charlotte, including as recruiting coordinator and then associate coach. Nicole played in college at Belmont Abbey College. Before starting her coaching career, she also played professionally in England for the Nottingham Wildcats.

Jennifer brings over 30 years of experience spanning education, banking, and learning technology. With a B.S. in Mathematics Education from N.C. State University, she taught high school math before transitioning to an 18-year banking career in retail and commercial lending. For the past 12+ years at nCino, Jennifer has led enterprise learning programs, overseeing training delivery, change management, and instructional design for global financial services audiences. Her leadership approach centers onvvvv discovering potential in others and building high-performing teams that deliver measurable organizational impact.

Jen Bernard is the Executive Director of Global Support at nCino, where she leads technical support operations worldwide. Her nCino journey began in 2013 as an Implementation Consultant, where she built deep platform expertise before advancing to lead Community and Regional Implementation teams. After relocating to Wilmington in 2013, she founded the local Salesforce User Group – a move that led her to A Safe Place, a nonprofit whose board she joined.

Amy Conway is a Senior HR Consultant and Certified Professional Coach, bringing over two decades of leadership experience across corporate retail, human resources, and organizational development. She spent a large part of her career in leadership roles at Nordstrom, where she built and led high-performing teams, shaped employee and customer experiences, and drove business results with a people-first strategy. Today, Amy partners with local businesses with Leath HR Group to align people strategies with business goals, while working with individuals through her coaching work.

QENO Director Sara Fletcher Daniels has extensive experience in nonprofit leadership, including as Finance Director at Thalian Hall, Executive Director of Feast Down East, and Interim Director of the N.C. Blueberry Festival Association, and Executive Director of the New Hanover Disaster Coalition. Sara founded the Cape Fear Food Council, which was integral in coordinating food assistance services across the community after Hurricane Florence and early in the pandemic. She owned and operated a consulting firm that offered nonprofit management services and also taught Nonprofit Financial Management in the MPA program at UNCW.

Nicole Haverly is Vice President of Credit Union Sales at nCino, where she has built her career over the past seven years. Before joining nCino, she held roles at two regional credit unions in the Midwest – experience that continues to inform how she leads her team and engages with customers today. Nicole serves on the boards of United Way of the Cape Fear Area, A Safe Place, and the WILMA Leadership Advisory Board.

Lisa Leath is the Chief People Officer at Vantaca, a PE-backed SaaS company valued at $1.25+ billion. She founded Leath HR Group on the belief that the best solutions come from business partnerships and relationships, not policies, and hosts HR Nightmares, a podcast for practitioners who value candor over corporate polish. Lisa served as Board Chair of the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce in 2024 and has been deeply engaged with WILMA, United Way of the Cape Fear Area, and the broader community for nearly two decades.vv

Lindsey Quick is Senior Manager of Talent Experience & Development at nCino, where she leads talent development, employee experience, and inclusion, community, and philanthropy. Lindsey found her calling in human resources during her graduate studies and has since built over a decade of experience in people operations, working with organizations ranging from 100 to 120,000 employees – including several years at PPD/Thermo Fisher Scientific. Outside of work, she serves on the Cape Fear Workforce Development Board through the Cape Fear Council of Governments and volunteers with The Honor Foundation.
