The 7th Annual WILMA Dash

And they’re off. And by they, we mean the record-breaking 969 women who took over downtown Wilmington on May 28 for the seventh annual WILMA Dash. From the pink tire-rimmed pace car provided by Fiat of Wilmington to the high fives provided by the Cape Fear Roller Girls, the walk/run marked another successful year of the all-female 5K.
After the finish line, runners and their supporting fans celebrated at the Health Fest Afterparty inside the Coastline Conference & Event Center.
Awards were given out to the top overall finishers and age-group finishers. Prizes also went out to the Most Spirited Team and Biggest Team. The Most Spirited Team won a private beer tasting with Front Street Brewery’s head brewer Kelsie Cole, while the Biggest Team won a party in Front Street Brewery’s The Beam Room.
Congratulations to all our Dashers who came out to cross the finish line. To check out photos, go to WILMAOnTheWeb.com or Facebook.com/WILMAmag.
See you on the course next year when we go 1,000 strong!
