Sugar Fix

A bouquet of red roses or a diamond- encrusted gift all seem par for the course when
Valentine’s Day comes along.

But spoiling yourself should be given, whether you’re a part of a romantic duo or riding solo. So why not indulge with a cupcake and spring’s decadent pastel palette to celebrate your fabulous self? After all, there’s nothing wrong with savoring some sugary goodness in an equally sweet ensemble; just use the month of love as your excuse!

Fluffy mounds of pastel gossamer and delicate beading can make any girl feel like a princess. That doesn’t mean, however, you can’t incorporate touches of pastel to your everyday wear. Try donning the season’s hottest hues – Pantone Color Institute’s Color of the Year in shades Rose Quartz and Serenity – by looking for these pastels in tailored, structured garments.

A metallic touch gives Rose Quartz an edgier punch for those worried that pink might be too precious a color to wear. You can also turn to makeup as a way to infuse the pastel color trend, highlighting one feature to ease into the season’s new shades without overdoing it. Don’t be afraid to dust a pale hue on your eyelids or a flush of pink on your cheeks. It’s a perfect way to add a
playful twist to your look.
