Statewide Art Show Returns to CAM

Spotlight on CAM exhibit

Spotlight Art Show Main

The State of the Art/Art of the State exhibit, which opened last month, runs through September 18. The unique show includes 776 works by artists from across North Carolina. On April 1, Cameron Art Museum held a 24- hour event during which artists eighteen and older who live in or are native to North Carolina were invited to bring a single work of art to be included. Nationally renowned curators greeted each artist, giving them the chance to talk one-on-one with a curator about their work. “This is a rare educational forum for artists to gain insight into their work,” says CAM executive director ANNE BRENNAN, “and affords them a vital chance to be seen and heard.”
