SHERI LEAVENS recently rebooted her Black Woman Working podcast, which she originally launched in 2019. She originally described it as “a podcast that informs, connects, and protects the spirit, honor, and vulnerability of Black women as they work on and through life’s adversities and possibilities, while sharing their stories, growth, and accomplishments!”

Whatchu’ Doin’

NC Host DEMIA AVERY launched Whatchu’ Doin’ Wilmington in 2021 and recently expanded it statewide. On it, she spotlights people and places around the state, including in her home base of Wilmington. Community highlights and event previews are a part of Avery’s mix.

Fractional

The semiweekly Fractional with Chris Capone and Associates podcast includes interviews with officials and newsmakers from the area’s business community. Recent guests have included LAURA BROGDON-PRIMAVERA, on developing the Wilmington chamber’s Career and Leadership Development Academy, in which all seventh graders in the New Hanover County school system make site visits to local employers. JEANETTE COFER, founder of executive leadership and organizational development firm JCo., was also a recent guest.

Shoresides Shoresides

A podcast started by the nonprofit Narrative Arts, discusses community issues and news about coastal Carolina. It was launched after Hurricane Florence. Besides Shoresides News, shows also include Somewhere & Elsewhere, focusing on artists, and Coastal Rising, about environmental topics.
