Is your inner Picasso trying to break out?

Whether you can paint or not, or if you’re looking for something different and fun to try or just looking to unwind from a stressful day, Wine & Design in Wilmington is the place to go.

Wine & Design is an art studio where you can unlock your creativity by painting a picture with the help of a painting instructor, while enjoying your favorite snack or beverage, alcoholic or nonalcoholic.

Claudia Outlaw, the franchise owner, says the studio is set up before you even get there.

“The picture is sketched on the canvas already and the art instructors, whom are professional artists, set up the canvasses, the paints and paintbrushes,” she said. “You just bring your own snack or beverage and we’ll supply the cups. The instructors are there to guide you and help you with things like how to blend the paints and colors.”

According to Outlaw, there is a different theme every night. Some of the more popular themes are: paint your pet night, when participants can send in a picture of their pet and it gets sketched onto a canvas to paint; paint your house and paint your boat.

Wine & Design even hosts a family night when family members sit across from each other and they paint each other Picasso style and show it to each other at the end of the session. Another favorite is date night where two people, date or friends, sit across from each other and paint each other Picasso style and show it to each other at the end of the night.

“We also can host private parties here at the studio for groups,” Outlaw said. “We have something called Wine & Design on wheels where we can come out to your house for parties, to club houses, recreational center, anywhere that has tables, chairs and you can paint and we’ll provide the painting supplies and materials.”

There is also a kids division called Art BUZZ, which features Mommy ‘N Me sessions when moms and their children can paint a picture together and Wine & Design holds a painting camp for kids every summer.

“Some people go to relax after a long day at work and enjoy their time painting with a bottle of wine,” Outlaw said. “Some go for fun, some go to learn how to paint, but they all feel like they’ve accomplished something great when they leave with their paintings and that’s what I like to see.”

Cheers to creativity.
