December 2: The Greater Wilmington Business Journal’s final Power Breakfast of the year features “Wilmington’s Most Intriguing People 2015.” Speakers Wilmington Police Chief Ralph Evangelous, GE Hitachi General Manger of Human Resources Kimberly Bankston, UNCW’s Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Interim Director Chuck Whitlock, Port City Community Church Senior Pastor Mike Ashcraft, and The Lanier Property Group Co-founder Stephanie Lanier presents TED-style talks about their ideas for the region. December 4: CFCC’s Small Business Center offers a free workshop on “How To Write A Business Plan with Business Plan Pro.” The seminar will cover what makes an effective business plan and key components for participants to think strategically about their business. The workshop is 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the college’s

December 8: UNCW’s QENO hosts a two-day Adaptive Leadership Program at the Holiday Inn Resort at Wrightsville Beach. The workshop is geared toward nonprofits and focuses on helping organizations and individuals learn how to adapt in challenging environments. Info: uncw.edu/qeno

December 8: The Greater Topsail Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism’s Women’s Connect Group meets at noon at George’s, 513 Country Club Drive in Hampstead. Info: topsailchamber.org

December 8: The annual Good Friends of Wilmington fundraiser is expected to bring together more than 700 women for a lunch event to raise money for individuals and families in need in the community.
