Women Build returns this year

This year’s Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build brings more than 300 people, teams, and community partners to raise money and build a house for RAQUEL, a single mother of two and local kindergarten teacher.

The effort kicked off at the end of April with a Women Build and Brews event at Hi-Wire Brewing, and the construction takes place over several days in May.

Raquel’s home will be in Haven Place, Cape Fear Habitat’s development in Castle Hayne.

“Participants have the chance to get directly involved in making a difference in the life of a family right here in our community,” says CHRISTINA FERRIS, Cape Fear Habitat’s development director. “The great part is that many will have the chance to meet and work alongside Raquel, the homeowner. It’s an empowering and uplifting experience for everyone who joins in, whether you volunteer, donate, or both.”
