PSL event spotlights female members, raises money for nonprofit

Female members of the Wilmington-based PINEAPPLE-SHAPED LAMPS comedy sketch troupe are yucking it up for a good cause.
The event, dubbed “The Ladies’ Room”, takes place at TheatreNOW on March 11 to spotlight the women cast and crew in Pineapple-Shaped Lamps. A portion of the show’s proceeds will be donated to Coastal Horizons Centers Inc.’s Rape Crisis Center, organizers say.
“From the foremothers of comedy like Lucille Ball and Carol Burnett, to modern comediennes like Tina Fey and Lena Dunham, women throughout history have proven time and again that they could dish the funny just as well as anyone,” the event’s announcement says. “Now, in celebration of Women’s History Month, the women of local comedy troupe Pineapple-Shaped Lamps brings you ‘The Ladies’ Room’ – a sketch comedy show that’s not afraid to show its feminine side.”
The troupe’s women also will produce the one-night show.
The event is at TheatreNOW, 19 South 10th Street. Doors open at 7:30 p.m., and the show starts at 8 p.m.
Tickets are $5. Click here for more info.
