WILMA’s Leadership Institute, an annual nine-month program, gives area women the opportunity to learn from leaders in the region, visit a range of local companies, and serve as each other’s personal board of directors. The program is part of the WILMA Leadership Initiative, created to empower women to lead with confidence and purpose. Meet institute member STEPHANIE WALKER.


Stephanie Walker

Title:  Client Communications Specialist

Company:  EARNEY Accountants & Advisors

How long have you been with your current employer?  3 years

Alma Mater:  University of North Carolina Wilmington

Prior career experience: I have over three years of experience in communication and marketing for EARNEY Accountants & Advisors following my graduation from UNCW in 2022. Previously, I interned with the North Carolina Azalea Festival to assist with planning and facilitating the iconic Wilmington event.

Current job responsibilities: I oversee client communication across all avenues while also leading our firms marketing and branding efforts. I craft engaging social media content, plan and coordinate all internal and external events, and represent the firm publicly through community engagement initiatives such as presenting to students through the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce’s Career and Leadership Development Academy.

Hobbies: Anything outdoors, reading, volunteering, and coloring.
