WILMA’s 2026 Leadership Institute, an annual nine-month program, gives area women the opportunity to learn from leaders in the region, visit a range of local companies, and serve as each other’s personal board of directors.

WILMA’s Leadership Institute, an annual nine-month program, gives area women the opportunity to learn from leaders in the region, visit a range of local companies, and serve as each other’s personal board of directors. The program is part of the WILMA Leadership Initiative, created to empower women to lead with confidence and purpose. Meet institute member OLIVIA NELSON.


Olivia Nelson

Title:  Project Engineer II

Company:  Samet Corporation

How long have you been with your current employer?  3.5 years

Alma Mater:  East Carolina University

Current job responsibilities:Currently focused on project management and procurement oversight, including monitoring project schedules and managing critical project documentation such as submittals, RFIs, and construction drawings. In addition, I am actively transitioning into a Project Manager role, taking on greater responsibilities and expanding my involvement in project financials and cost management.

Hobbies: My hobbies include working out (pilates and walking), spending time with family and friends, needlepointing, going to the beach, and just spending as much time outside as possible.
