Calista Connors
Title: Loan Officer
Company: Live Oak Bank
How long have you been with your current employer? 5 years
Alma Mater: Elon University
Prior career experience: I have been lucky to have spent my entire professional career at Live Oak Bank. I began as a Business Analyst and then spent two years as an Underwriter before transitioning into my current role as a Loan Officer. These roles gave me a strong foundation in financial analysis, underwriting, and the lending process.
Current job responsibilities: As a Loan Officer at Live Oak Bank, I work closely with business owners, particularly human and animal health practice owners, to help them grow and scale their businesses. My role involves evaluating potential transactions by analyzing financial statements, cash flow, and deal structure while ensuring they meet both bank and SBA lending criteria. I often work with borrowers from the early stages of a project idea through underwriting and ultimately to closing, helping guide them through each step of the lending process.
Hobbies: Outside of work, I’m passionate about fitness and also coach at E•Motion Fitness in Wilmington. When I’m not working or coaching, you can usually find me walking the loop, spending time with my golden retriever, trying new restaurants around town, or enjoying time at the beach.
