The Beauty Boost plans fitness sampler event
Self-care can mean a lot of different things, and it should be tailored to fit every woman, no matter what her journey entails. In 2015, RACHEL KERR decided to organize a place where women could find the support they needed to live healthier, happier lives; this place became known as The Beauty Boost.
It wasn’t long before news of The Beauty Boost (TBB) spread to other like-minded women looking to make a difference for the women in their communities.
“I am from a small town in Ohio,” says AMY EATON, owner of The Beauty Boost in Wilmington. “I heard TBB’s founder on a close friend’s podcast and filled out a franchise form because I really connected with the mission behind TBB. It is to help connect women with empowerment, networking while promoting and working with local women-owned businesses; bringing together like-minded women in a space through fun events themed around socials, retreats, empowerment, and fitness.”
TBB is for women of all walks of life, no matter what level of health and wellness they wish to achieve.
“The Beauty Boost women are into health and wellness (but not extremists),” Eaton says. “They still like to have their wine or seltzers and kick back at happy hour. They love all things self-development and are kind. They care about what they put in their bodies. They give back and they don’t settle for mediocre.”
TBB hosts pop-up fitness events at local gyms where women can learn more without the pressure of a large group setting. Organizers are planning an upcoming Fitness Sampler on November 12, as well.
“The Fitness Sampler is a variety of workouts from local participating gyms,” Eaton says. “We will run back-to-back sample workouts with local gyms. This year includes F45 Training Midtown, Burn Boot Camp, Sole Fitness, E•motion Fitness, Women in Fitness, Legends Boxing Wilmington, and 9Round. I have Cool Beans coffee truck at the event in the morning, and Flying Machine has Keith’s BBQ food truck for the afternoon. These are both available for the attendees at additional cost as well as the brewery, which will open throughout the event.”
While this will be Wilmington’s first Fitness Sampler, it has been a very successful event for TBB’s more than twenty-seven locations across the United States with many of the other locations attracting more than 200 women.
“We also have several national sponsors that help provide snacks and drinks at this event and all our events like Eboost, From the Ground Up, and Food Shouldn’t Taste So Good,” Eaton says. “I also have many local businesses that donate items, free class passes, etc. for swag bags for the fitness events. The Fitness Sampler allows attendees to try a variety of workouts with different focus and local gyms. It also helps the gyms and the wellness businesses that set up tables at events spotlight their gyms and what their business has to offer.”
While there will mostly be wellness-focused businesses in attendance, there will also be some shopping available as well as a raffle giveaway basket.
The 2023 Fitness Sampler takes place 9 a.m.-1 p.m. November 12 at Flying Machine Brewing Company, 3130 Randall Parkway in Wilmington.
Tickets can be purchased online at thebeautyboost.net/wilmington.
“Everyone is welcome,” Eaton says. “The Beauty Boost is a community for women to feel empowered, healthy, and beautiful! We create events and experiences that hold the space for women to deepen friendships, try new things, support local businesses, meet new friends, have fun, learn, and grow together.”
